Summer 2012 - Days 4-7

Busy, busy, busy!!!!!  Plus there are big parts of Idaho with no cell phone or wireless coverage.  Right now I am plugged into my daughter-in-laws router in Gooding, Idaho.

Day 4 

It was a very hot drive from Las Vegas to Heyburn, ID on US 93 through the middle of Neveda.

 There is 20-30 miles at a time with nothing on it.
There was a huge fire north east of Ely.

Our Destination!!!!  Had dinner with Ma, Pa, Dean (Rita's oldest brother), Eldon (Rita's 4th of 8 brothers), and Kathleen (Eldon's wife).  Lot's of fun!!!!

Day 5

Started the day eating breakfast with Ma and Pa at the Way Station, then to their place, but we saw Dean mowing Eldon's place.

We then went to Gooding, ID to help Robin cook for the big river run.  They live on a ranch, but I think it is a Zoo because they had. . . .
 horses . .
 sheep . . .
 pigs (and  Robin). . .
 ducks . . .  and many more.   Here is a picture of all the rafts for the trip.

DAY 6

Baking and cooking day.  8 different cookies, brownies, enchiladas, cornbread, biscuits, chicken fried chicken, and
and I "Cut the Cheese" = 10 pounds of it for their lunches.  After all that, I made "Fractured Tacos" for the crew.

DAY 7

Just getting my first cup of coffee for the day and starting to work on the blog, boom, there she was
Summer, my Great niece.   Nice to see her again.  Another day of cooking and food prep.  Making salads (potato, jello, and 2 types of macaroni), hamburger patties, and cooking Spaghetti for dinner for 20.  Visited the market 5 times to get things for the trip that Rita, 3 of her brothers, 2 nephews, and 4 friends.
Just a small amount of the food for the trip.  The pickle barrels have bread. chips, and charcoal.

And this is for my daughter and my son . . .
Tomorrow we take them to the river, then moving the trucks/trailers to the pull out spot.  See you a few days.......
